Communicative tool



In this session, we have learned about the communicative tool. It refers to the applications, apps, or technology which fosters easy communication between teachers and students and amongst the students beyond the physical barrier either by learning face to face or outside the classroom. Some of the examples includes, social media apps, email, discussion groups, virtual, online meeting groups, blogging and etc. it is important to integrate communicative tool in teaching and learning phases. It not only enhances the interaction between the teachers and students but it increases the profitability by increasing efficiency and faster sharing of information. Moreover, communicative tool plays a vital role in providing clarity and coherence to make the learning comprehensive thereby helping them to communicate their thoughts and ideas. The best way to make use of the communicative tool is by collaborating and communicating using google docs, and google slides during teaching and learning process. Communicating using social media apps for sharing ideas with friends and teachers, and the blog to further communicate the knowledge and ideas. We can also use the learning management system such as virtual learning environment so as to foster the effective communication of our thoughts and ideas. In all, communicative tool is a two way process and it is of two types: synchronous and asynchronous communication. Synchronous communication is a type of communication which happens at a real time and involve activities that require a higher degree of interaction-web video conferencing (zoom meeting). The examples includes; online chats, telephone calls and video conferencing. On the other hand, asynchronous communication doesn’t require the people communicating to be logged on the internet at the same time. The communication doesn’t happen at the real time whereby the learning content can be learned as per the time and schedule conveniently. Some of the examples are pre-recorded video, discussion forum, WeChat, telegrams, and google classroom. 



We also learned how to create a google classroom step by step. Steps to create google classroom:

Step 1: search “classroom.google.com”.

Step 2: click on “classroom.google.com”.

Step 3: click on “who are you”.

Step 4: tap add +>create class.

Step 5: enter the class name.

Step 6: to enter a short description, grade level, or class time, tap on announcement and enter details like subject content and tap on save button.

Step 7: then go to people and add your co-teachers and students.

Step 8: tap create.

Step 9: select topic and add week and topic there.

Step 10: then to upload material, tap create, select material, add the title and upload the material under the particular topic.

Step 11: to upload a PowerPoint, select it, assign it a title, and tap create, and then post it under that particular topic.

Step 12: to add a video, tap on create, select the material, add a title, and then submit computer-generated or YouTube video under the relevant topic.

Step 13: click “create”, choose “assignment”, enter the title, instructions, edit points, add rubrics, and submit the assignment under the relevant topic to assign it.

Step 14: tap “create”, enter the quiz title, select blank quiz and then add questions and answers to create a new quiz. Click on required after adding the responses, then click on answers key. After that, select turn on responses-collect email addresses from the settings.
